DETAILED BIOGRAPHY

I completed a six-year dental program at the Medical University of Nis, School of Dentistry in Yugoslavia in 1998 and earned a diploma for Doctor of Stomatology, their equivalent for our Doctor of Dental Medicine. After I received my degree in Yugoslavia, I returned to Iran and completed an additional advanced dental program and received my certificate for Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tehran, College of Dentistry in 2000. In January, 2001 I moved to the United States and gained entry into the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry program. I graduated from NYU, the largest, most advanced and most modern dental school in the nation in 2005 and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

My passion for learning continued and motivated me to pursue further training at an advanced level. Shortly after graduation from NYU, I was accepted into the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry for Advanced Education in Prosthodontics, a full time three year residency program. Beside the specialty education in Prosthodontics, I earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with honors from the University of Maryland Graduate School in 2008. My mentors persuaded me to enroll in a post-doctoral surgical fellowship right after completing my residency in Prosthodontics.

In July of 2009, I completed a one year full time Implant and Periodontal Prosthetics Fellowship at the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry, department of Periodontics, mastering in surgical aspects of implantology and periodontal surgeries, including advanced diagnostic methods and treatment planning using Cone Beam CT scans, soft tissue (gum grafting) and osseous surgeries (including crown lengthening, extractions and socket preservation, ridge augmentation, sinus lift or floor elevation procedures) as well as surgical placements of Noble Biocare, StraumannZimmer-Biomet and Biohorizons dental implants, in the state-of-the-art Periodontics Postgraduate Clinic that is equipped with the latest diagnostic imaging equipment, full surgical suites at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.

I am extremely proud and privileged to say that for the four years postgraduate training I had the opportunity to be trained and mentored by Board certified specialists in both Prosthodontics and Periodontics, to whom I will always be in debt.

Extreme emphasis on combination of science and advanced new technologies and continuous supervision by dedicated master clinicians is the highlight of my four years post-graduate training at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
